Bawdy dockside tales, malevolent sorcery, anguish in new town drawing rooms! Aria Alba give Purcell's opera a topical twist in their new production. Aria Alba's imaginative reworking charts the ill-fated union of Dido Carthage McQueen, daughter of a scorned Scottish banking magnate and handsome Aeneas Mackay, chief executive of the powerful Trojan Bank. Join Dido, Aeneas and a lively chorus of hangers-on and anti-bank protesters in this tempestuous tale of sorcery and love as two banking dynasties are thrust together then torn apart.
