Saturday 12 November 2011, 7.30-9.30pm
Bruntsfield Evangelical Church, Edinburgh We were joined by City of Discovery Brass Quintet for a variety concert of operatic arias, choruses, and musical theatre to raise money for Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS). Our programme celebrated the majesty and richness of the festive season, the traditional musical season and a time for celebration, with pieces by Offenbach, Bizet, Bellini, Verdi, Grieg, Handel and more, and songs from My Fair Lady, West Side Story and Wicked. Aria Alba is delighted to report that £930 was raised for CHAS with generous support from private donors, Wood Mackenzie, and JoJo Maman Bebe. |
Aria in an Italian Garden
May & August 2011 (at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe)
Bruntsfield Evangelical Church, Edinburgh Our first Fringe performance of operatic arias and choruses with an Italian flavour was well received. With support from a whole range of friends, who provided props, assistance, lighting, and costumes, we succeeded in drawing large audiences to Bruntsfield Evangelical Church, a new venue for the Fringe. Our Company members stunned the reviewers with their renditions of 'Nessun Dorma', 'Enchanted Islanders', Dido's Lament, and much more. |
